**Bengaluru, March 28, 2025** – Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, 36, has been arrested in Pune, Maharashtra, for the murder of his wife, Gauri Anil Sambekar, 32. Police allege Khedekar stabbed his wife, placed her body in a suitcase, and abandoned it at their rented Bengaluru apartment before fleeing.
Khedekar initially contacted his in-laws, claiming Gauri had committed suicide. However, the in-laws alerted the police, who discovered Gauri’s body with a stab wound at the scene. Khedekar, a project manager for a multinational company who worked from home, was apprehended late Thursday night following a manhunt.
The couple, both originally from Maharashtra, had moved into the apartment in February. The investigation is ongoing.
