**Lucknow, India –** Facing a wave of injuries, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have thrown two unheralded players into the deep end, handing debuts to fast bowler Prince Yadav and mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi in their IPL 2025 opener against the Delhi Capitals.

Yadav, a 23-year-old right-arm speedster, impressed in the inaugural Delhi Premier League (DPL), capturing 13 wickets in eight matches while playing under Rishabh Pant. His strong performance earned him a spot in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024/25, where he took 11 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.5. He even showcased his batting prowess, hitting a quick 17 runs in one SMAT match.

Rathi, another DPL product scouted by Pant, is a mystery spinner who finished among the top five wicket-takers in the tournament with 14 wickets, 10 of which were googly dismissals. He’s known for his strong second-innings bowling, taking 11 wickets in five such innings. Rathi has openly cited Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, and Ravi Bishnoi as inspirations, adapting elements of their bowling styles into his own.
