**Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, March 22, 2025** – A dhaba owner in Mandi district was shot and injured by two bike-borne assailants who robbed him Friday night. Pradeep Guleria, from Dayari Tilli, was preparing a packed meal when he noticed the men attempting to steal cash from his counter. Upon confronting them, the robbers opened fire, injuring Guleria and fleeing with cash and an LED TV.

Guleria is currently receiving treatment at a medical college in Nerchowk. Police have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, forming a special investigation team to apprehend the suspects, described as one wearing a white cap and the other a black helmet.

This incident follows a similar shooting last week targeting former Congress MLA Bamber Thakur, raising concerns about law and order in the state. Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, a classmate of the injured dhaba owner, visited Guleria and criticized the state’s deteriorating security situation. Thakur also highlighted recent vehicle vandalism in Punjab targeting vehicles from Himachal Pradesh, suggesting cross-border criminal activity. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
