**Vijayawada, March 21, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government announced plans to bolster its anganwadi services and create employment opportunities for women by filling 948 vacant positions for anganwadi helpers and workers across the state. Women and Child Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani made the announcement on Friday, instructing officials from all 26 districts to initiate the recruitment process.
The decision came during a review meeting focused on the 2025-26 budget, where officials from the Departments of Women and Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare were tasked with prioritizing child nutrition and health protection. The meeting also covered the allocation, implementation, and utilization of funds for various welfare programs.
