Fri Mar 21 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Telugu States Brace for Three Days of Rain and Hail

**Hyderabad, India –** The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall and potential hailstorms from March 21st to 23rd. The announcement brings potential relief from the scorching heatwave currently gripping the region, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some parts of Telangana.

While the rain is expected to offer respite from the intense heat, the IMD warns that the downpours and hail could damage standing crops, posing a challenge for farmers. The highest likelihood of rainfall, including hailstorms, is anticipated in Telangana.

The IMD attributes the impending weather system to a reverse flow of clouds from China, moving through northern India and Odisha before reaching Telangana. Wind speeds could reach up to 50 kilometers per hour during this period. The department previously forecast the rain four days prior.

The Telangana government has announced a school holiday for March 21st, and colleges and banks will also be closed. Further, two days of holiday and two optional holidays have been declared for students and employees. The public is advised to exercise caution during the expected inclement weather.
