Prakash Raj, in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), clarified that he had appeared in an advertisement for a betting app in 2016. He stated that he soon realized the nature of the app was problematic and terminated his contract in 2017, instructing the company to cease using the advertisement. He further explained that his image was used again in 2021 by a subsequent owner of the company, a situation he addressed with legal notices and requests for removal, which he claims were successful. Raj stated that he has not yet been contacted by the police but is prepared to cooperate fully should they reach out.
Raj used this opportunity to caution the public, especially youth, about the dangers of online betting apps, emphasizing their addictive nature and potential to ruin lives. He reiterated his commitment to responsible conduct and his regret over his previous association with the advertisement.
