Fri Mar 21 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan Thrash New Zealand in Thrilling T20 Chase, Keep Series Alive

**Auckland, New Zealand –** Pakistan pulled off a stunning victory over New Zealand in the third T20I, chasing down a 200-run target with four overs to spare. The win keeps the series alive for Pakistan, with two matches remaining.

Hasan Nawaz stole the show, smashing a magnificent century (100*) on his way to securing the Player of the Match award. His unbeaten knock, which included several powerful ramp shots and sixes, was particularly impressive given he had previously recorded two ducks in the series. Nawaz credited Pakistan captain Salman Agha and Shadab Khan for their support and encouragement, which helped him to play his natural game.

Pakistan’s chase was aided by the Eden Park ground and favorable dew conditions. However, Nawaz’s explosive batting and Salman Agha’s tactical support were key to securing the win. Agha himself contributed a half-century (50). New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell admitted his team was 15 runs short of a competitive total and criticised their failure to bat their full 20 overs. He praised Nawaz’s exceptional performance but expressed disappointment with the overall result.

“Outstanding performance,” said Agha after the match. “The bowlers started really well, and the two youngsters batted brilliantly. If you back the youngsters, they will deliver.” Bracewell, on the other hand, stated, “Disappointed with the result. Tip your hat off to Nawaz, he was unbelievable. We did not bat the full 20 overs, which is criminal in T20s.”

The fourth T20I is scheduled for tomorrow, the 23rd.
