Fri Mar 21 02:55:06 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Assembly Celebrates Improved Conduct with Sports Meet and Cultural Program

**Vijayawada, March 21, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded a marked improvement in decorum at the state Legislative Assembly, hailing a shift from frequent use of foul language to a more respectful environment. Speaking at a cultural program concluding a two-day Legislators’ Sports Meet, Mr. Naidu remarked that the Assembly, once notorious for its abusive language, has transformed into a “Gaurava Sabha” (Honorable Assembly) from a “Kaurava Sabha” (referencing the warring Kaurava clan in the Mahabharata).

The Chief Minister emphasized the public’s desire for grievance redressal, stating that while foul language might provide temporary satisfaction to the speaker, it ultimately does not serve the public interest. He recalled a time when Assembly members interacted with mutual respect. He highlighted the importance of ruling and opposition parties working collaboratively for the state’s development rather than engaging in personal conflicts.

The Legislators’ Sports Meet, held on March 18th and 19th, was seen by Mr. Naidu as a positive step towards improving the health and well-being of MLAs and MLCs. He jokingly suggested a potential budget reallocation, reducing health funding and increasing allocations for sports and entertainment.

The cultural evening featured a solo performance by Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, which Mr. Naidu compared to the performances of the late Chief Minister and actor N.T. Rama Rao. He also praised the performances of MLAs P. Vishnu Kumar Raju and J. Brahmananda Reddy. The event, attended by Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan, Legislative Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, ministers, MLAs, and MLCs, concluded with the Chief Minister awarding prizes to the sports competition winners. Mr. Naidu expressed his hope for more such events in the future.
