**Mumbai, March 20, 2025** – Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray is facing renewed scrutiny over the 2020 death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Satish Salian, Disha’s father, filed a petition with the Bombay High Court on Wednesday, March 19, seeking a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death and alleging a politically motivated cover-up. The petition names Thackeray and calls for a CBI investigation and the filing of a First Information Report (FIR). Mr. Salian claims his daughter was raped and murdered.

Thackeray, a former Maharashtra Minister, vehemently denied the allegations, stating that attempts to tarnish his image have been ongoing for five years and he will present his defense in court.

Adding fuel to the fire, BJP minister Nitesh Rane called for Thackeray’s resignation as an MLA, citing Supreme Court precedents regarding arrests in rape cases. Rane’s comments followed the filing of the petition.

Conversely, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve accused the BJP of orchestrating the attacks against Thackeray, while NCP (SP) leader Jitendra Awhad questioned the timing of Salian’s father coming forward after five years.

Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a building. The Mumbai police initially classified her death as accidental. Her death occurred six days before the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, which also remains under investigation. The case continues to generate significant political controversy.
