**Hyderabad:** Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Bhatti Vikramarka, presented a ₹3,04,965 crore budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year in the state Legislative Assembly today. The budget allocates ₹2,26,982 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹36,504 crore for capital expenditure.
Vikramarka highlighted the government’s commitment to the people of Telangana, emphasizing efforts to revitalize the state’s economy after what he described as damage incurred under the previous administration. The budget focuses on both short-term and long-term benefits, he added.
Key initiatives outlined in the budget include:
* **Mega Master Plan 2050:** Aimed at making Telangana a leading state. A target of a trillion-dollar economy within a decade has been set.
* **China Plus One Strategy:** Positioning Telangana as a global manufacturing hub.
* **Women-led Rice Mills and Mini Warehouses:** Establishment of these facilities in every mandal (administrative unit). Women’s self-help groups will play a significant role in rice milling and supply to FCI.
* **RTC Bus Procurement:** 600 buses will be leased to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) through mandal women’s federations.
* **SC Sub-Caste Classification:** Telangana becomes the first state to implement this legislation.
* **ORR Phase-2 Water Supply:** Completion of this project to provide drinking water to expanded areas of Hyderabad.
* **Comprehensive Flood Drainage Project:** ₹5,942 crore allocated for this project in Hyderabad.
* **Future City Project:** A massive development project spanning 56 villages and 765 sq km, including an AI city, pharma hub, sports city, and innovation zones, is planned between Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar highways.
The minister also criticized the previous government’s housing policies, stating they had left the public disappointed. He expressed confidence in the current government’s ability to deliver on its promises and build a prosperous Telangana.
