**Kozhikode, Kerala –** A 25-year-old man, identified as Yasir, was arrested on Wednesday for the murder of his wife, Shibila, in Kozhikode district, Kerala. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at Engapuzha. Yasir, reportedly a synthetic drug addict, allegedly stabbed Shibila to death and fled the scene. Shibila’s parents, who attempted to intervene, also suffered serious stab wounds.
Police apprehended Yasir near Kozhikode Medical College, where Shibila succumbed to her injuries. The couple, who were classmates and married four years ago, had been separated for over four months due to Yasir’s drug addiction and alleged anti-social behavior. A domestic violence complaint had previously been filed against Yasir by Shibila.
Police investigations revealed a connection between Yasir and another individual from Puthuppadi who recently murdered his mother. Both men were reportedly friends, drug addicts, and involved in several local conflicts. Local residents assisted in Yasir’s arrest.
