Wed Mar 19 01:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Mother Kills Infant Daughter After Husband’s Suspicions Lead to Abuse

**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh:** A mother in Pedagantyada, Visakhapatnam district, has been arrested for allegedly killing her five-month-old daughter. Police say the woman, identified as Shirisha, was driven to the act by her husband’s constant suspicion and harassment.

According to Arilova Police Station CI H. Malleshwara Rao, Shirisha and her husband, Gorle Venkataramana, married in 2013. Venkataramana became increasingly suspicious of Shirisha’s fidelity, constantly accusing and verbally abusing her. After the birth of their daughter, the abuse intensified. He even installed CCTV cameras in their home to monitor her movements.

Overwhelmed by the stress, Shirisha suffocated her infant daughter with a pillow on the night of November 13th. To avoid suspicion, she took the body to Tenneti Park beach, briefly entered the sea, and then called her husband. She claimed that waves had pulled her and the baby into the sea, and that the child was unresponsive when they reached the shore.

Venkataramana took the baby to a private hospital, where doctors confirmed her death. Suspecting foul play, Venkataramana reported the incident to the Arilova police station. A post-mortem examination at KGH revealed the cause of death as asphyxiation.

During interrogation, Shirisha confessed to killing her daughter in a fit of rage due to her husband’s relentless accusations. She has been charged with murder and remanded to judicial custody.
