**Erode, Tamil Nadu, March 17, 2025** – A 35-year-old security guard, Kumar, has been arrested for the murder of his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Deepasri. The incident occurred in Modakkurichi, Erode district, on March 15th.
According to police reports, Kumar’s wife, Pandiselvi, took their four-year-old son to the hospital due to illness. While she was away, Kumar allegedly killed Deepasri. He then contacted Pandiselvi, claiming the child had fallen unconscious and needed further medical attention.
Pandiselvi rushed to the hospital, but doctors pronounced Deepasri dead on arrival. Suspecting foul play, Pandiselvi alerted the police, leading to Kumar’s detention and subsequent arrest. Investigations revealed that Kumar suspected his wife’s infidelity and murdered his daughter in a fit of rage.
A murder case has been registered against Kumar, who has been remanded to Coimbatore Central Prison after appearing in court. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
