Sun Mar 16 17:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Marquez Brothers Dominate Argentina MotoGP Sprint; Marc Takes Pole, Leads Championship

**Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina** – Marc Marquez secured his second pole position of the 2025 season at the Argentina MotoGP, setting a new lap record in qualifying. He then followed this up with a dominant victory in the sprint race, leading every lap despite a brief challenge from his brother, Alex Marquez.

Alex Marquez finished a close second, less than a second behind Marc at the checkered flag. The two brothers’ performance left factory Ducati rider Pecco Bagnaia trailing in a distant third, highlighting the Marquez’s current dominance. Bagnaia, who started fourth, continues to struggle to match their pace.

Johann Zarco of LCR Honda qualified third and showed podium potential in the sprint, finishing fourth. He expressed confidence in his chances for the main race on Sunday, citing a planned tire strategy.

The main race will unfortunately be missing two riders: Miguel Oliveira (Pramac) and Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia). Oliveira suffered a shoulder injury in a collision with Fermin Aldeguer during the sprint, while Savadori partially dislocated his shoulder during qualifying. Aldeguer will also face a long-lap penalty in Sunday’s race for his role in the incident.

Marc Marquez now leads the championship by 11 points heading into Sunday’s 25-lap Grand Prix, which starts at 6 pm GMT. The race promises to be exciting, with Zarco and potentially others looking to challenge the Marquez brothers’ dominance. Several riders opted for different tire strategies, adding another layer of intrigue to the upcoming race.
