**Kalaburagi, Karnataka, March 16, 2025** – A transgender woman was violently assaulted by a gang of six other transgender individuals near the Kalaburagi Central Bus Stand on Sunday, March 16th. The victim, identified as Ankita, was stripped, assaulted, and had her head shaved after refusing to share money she had collected from passersby with the group.
A video of the incident quickly circulated on social media, prompting police intervention. Ankita is currently receiving treatment at the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital.
