Sat Mar 15 15:51:50 UTC 2025: **Kurnool TDP Leader Brutally Murdered**
KURNOOL, Andhra Pradesh – Kosapogu Sanjanna, a 55-year-old TDP leader and former corporator, was brutally murdered in Kurnool’s Shareen Nagar on Friday night. Police and eyewitnesses report that he was attacked with knives by a group of assailants, resulting in his immediate death.
Sanjanna’s son, Jayaram, alleges that the murder was orchestrated by local rowdy-sheeter Vadde Ramanjaneyulu, also known as Anji, due to Sanjanna’s opposition to Anji’s alleged extortion activities. Jayaram claims Anji and his associates attacked his father around 9 pm, also attempting to harm other family members. Police have recovered vehicles believed to be used in the crime.
Nandyal MP Byreddy Sabari, a fellow TDP member and close associate of Sanjanna, visited the family to offer condolences. She described Sanjanna as a dedicated party activist who worked tirelessly for the development of Shareen Nagar.
Kurnool IV Town inspector Madhusudhan Goud confirmed that a case has been registered against Anji and six others, and four special teams have been deployed to apprehend the suspects. While Anji is also reportedly affiliated with the TDP, MP Sabari stated that action will be taken irrespective of the accused’s political affiliation. The investigation is ongoing.
