**Mangaluru, March 16, 2025** – Mangaluru’s Central Crime Branch arrested a sixth member of an interstate criminal gang on Sunday, bringing the total number of arrests to six. The accused, identified as 26-year-old M. Abdul Faizal from Kasaragod, Kerala, was apprehended along with a locally made pistol, live ammunition, and a mobile phone.
This arrest follows the apprehension of five other gang members earlier this week. The police seized three pistols, six live bullets, 12.895 kg of cannabis, three cars, and other valuables worth approximately ₹40 lakh during those arrests. Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated that a total of four locally made pistols, all believed to have originated in Maharashtra, have been recovered from the six suspects. The investigation is ongoing to determine the gang’s motives for acquiring the weapons.
