Sat Mar 15 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Grizzlies Star Ja Morant Out Against Heat Due to Shoulder Soreness
**MEMPHIS, TN –** Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant will miss Saturday night’s game against the Miami Heat due to lingering right shoulder soreness, coach Taylor Jenkins announced. The injury comes after Morant delivered a stellar 44-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, arguably his best game of the season.
Morant, who has already missed 24 games this season due to injury, played through the shoulder pain in the last six games but is now sidelined for at least one contest. His absence leaves a significant hole in the Grizzlies’ offense. He’s averaging 22.3 points and 7.4 assists per game this season.
The Grizzlies will also be without Vince Williams Jr., who is dealing with right ankle soreness. The team will look to Desmond Bane, Luke Kennard, and Scotty Pippen Jr. to shoulder the playmaking responsibilities in Morant’s absence. Jaren Jackson Jr., recently returned from a five-game absence, will also be expected to contribute more offensively.
