**Nephi, UT (March 15, 2025)** — The Carbon and Emery County girls’ golf teams kicked off their season at the Canyon Hills Golf Course in Nephi on Tuesday. The match, originally scheduled for Delta but postponed due to weather, saw participation from seven teams: Carbon, Emery, Canyon View, Manti, North Sanpete, Delta, and Juab, along with Richfield. The scores from this tournament contribute to the players’ season averages and are important for state qualification.
Carbon’s Carley West led her team, placing fourth overall with a score of 90. Kaylynn Black (103) and Lisa King (118) also contributed strong performances for Carbon. Emery’s top player was Clair Lindsey, who finished sixteenth with 114 strokes. Clarissa Beagley (120), Lydia Larsen (123), and Avey Beagley (128) rounded out the Emery team’s scores.
Richfield emerged as the top team with a total gross score of 355, followed by Juab (394), Delta (435), North Sanpete (451), Carbon (464), Manti (476), Emery (485), and Canyon View (502).
The teams will next compete in Manti at the Palisade State Park Golf Course, with scores again counting towards state qualification.
