Thu Mar 13 19:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Man United Bolster Europa League Squad with Youngsters for Sociedad Clash
**Manchester, England** – Manchester United have boosted their Europa League squad with the additions of young talents Tyler Fredricson and James Scanlon for Thursday’s crucial round-of-16 second leg against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford. The tie is currently level at 1-1 following the first leg.
Fredricson, a centre-back who captained United’s Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League, and Scanlon, an 18-year-old wide forward and Gibraltar international, have been added to the UEFA B list ahead of the 8 PM GMT kickoff. Scanlon has impressed in the FA Youth Cup, notably scoring twice against Chelsea. While Scanlon is yet to feature for the senior team, Fredricson was an unused substitute in the Premier League match against Tottenham last month.
Other eligible academy players include Elyh Harrison, Harry Amass, Habeeb Ogunneye, Jack Fletcher, and Jayce Fitzgerald, though Chido Obi was ineligible due to not meeting the two-year club residency requirement.
Manager Ruben Amorim addressed the media on Wednesday, discussing various topics including player fitness, recent injury returns (including Mason Mount), and transfer speculation. He also revealed details of private conversations with Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Tickets remain available for the match.
