Fri Mar 14 14:38:38 UTC 2025: ## Kochi Corporation to Launch Permanent Adalat for Complaint Redressal
**KOCHI, March 14, 2025** – The Kochi Corporation is launching a permanent adalat (dispute resolution forum) to provide free legal services to the public, resolving complaints efficiently. The initiative, a collaboration with the Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KELSA) and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), will operate from the Corporation’s main office and six zonal offices.
The adalat, to be inaugurated on Sunday by Industries and Law Minister P. Rajeeve, aims to address unresolved complaints and disputes falling under the Kerala Municipality Act that remain unresolved within a specified timeframe. Complaints can be submitted via complaint boxes located in all Corporation offices. These will be forwarded to KELSA and DLSA for resolution through regular adalats.
Kerala High Court Judge A. Muhamed Mustaque will be the chief guest at the inauguration. The event will also feature Mayor M. Anilkumar and a presentation by former Kerala High Court Judge M.R. Hariharan Nair.
However, the adalat will not handle cases already in litigation, nor issues related to the LIFE Mission, extreme poverty, or employee service matters.
