**Kannur, Kerala – March 14, 2025** – Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K. Sudhakaran launched a scathing attack on the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, accusing it of inaction and complicity in the state’s growing drug problem. Speaking at a Mahila Congress event against drugs and violence, Mr. Sudhakaran cited the recent ganja bust at a Kalamassery polytechnic hostel, criticizing the station bail granted to those arrested.
He alleged that the government routinely grants bail to CPI(M) members implicated in drug-related offenses, while simultaneously transferring or suspending investigating officers. Mr. Sudhakaran claimed that Kerala has become a haven for alcohol and drugs, further alleging that the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) is actively involved in the drug trade.
“Those who carry liquor and ganja cannot be called students,” he stated, demanding stricter action. He called the situation a serious issue, asserting that “the State is being ruled by the Left, and its leaders and activists are making a living by selling drugs.”
Mr. Sudhakaran urged the people of Kerala to unite against the drug menace, vowing the KPCC’s continued fight against the issue. He challenged the public to decide whether they want a peaceful and harmonious society.
