**LOS ANGELES, CA** – The Los Angeles Chargers have bolstered their linebacker corps, signing veteran Andrew Van Ginkel to a one-year contract worth up to $3.35 million, NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo reported.

Van Ginkel, 29, spent the past two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, appearing in all 17 games in 2024 with two starts. He contributed 31 total tackles, five tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, and one sack. He saw significant playing time, participating in 53% of the Dolphins’ defensive snaps and 24% of special teams snaps.

Originally a fourth-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2018, Van Ginkel has amassed 64 career games played with 13 starts across stints with the Lions, Tennessee Titans, and Dolphins. His career totals include 5.0 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits. The addition of Van Ginkel provides the Chargers with a seasoned veteran presence and depth at linebacker.
