Thu Mar 13 05:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Wendy Williams’ Guardianship Under Investigation for Potential Elder Abuse

**NEW YORK, NY** – The guardianship of former talk show host Wendy Williams is under investigation for possible elder abuse, according to a new report. Adult Protective Services launched an investigation last week following allegations that Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, sent the 60-year-old to visit her father in Florida without sufficient funds.

A source told the US Sun that Williams’ “civil rights and liberty are being denied,” claiming Morrissey’s actions constitute elder abuse. The source alleges that Morrissey provided Williams with a credit card containing no funds, leaving her unable to pay for expenses during her trip. The source further accuses Morrissey of misusing Williams’ funds, spending significant sums on legal fees to defend herself.

This investigation comes on the heels of a concerning incident on Monday. Williams was taken to a hospital after dropping a note from her fifth-story assisted living facility window, reading “Help! Wendy!!,” prompting a police wellness check. A subsequent psychiatric evaluation reportedly found her mental capacity to be fully intact.

Williams herself previously voiced concerns about her guardianship in a January interview, describing her situation as “emotional abuse” and feeling “trapped” in the facility. She reported having limited access to her phone and laptop and possessing only $15 despite her considerable career earnings.

The guardianship was established in 2022 following a request from Wells Fargo expressing concerns about Williams’ well-being. While Williams’ team announced a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia last year, her family reported being denied contact with her due to the guardianship. Morrissey claimed in November 2024 that Williams was permanently incapacitated.

Morrissey has yet to comment on the elder abuse allegations. The investigation is ongoing.
