**Belagavi, March 12, 2025** – A woman was seriously injured Wednesday in a violent clash between two families in Hale Vantamuri village, Belagavi district, over a long-standing land dispute. The altercation between the families of Maruti Honnure and Parasappa Holikar escalated when members of one family climbed onto the roof of the other’s home and began damaging the structure. During the ensuing fight, Ningavva sustained serious machete wounds and was admitted to the District Hospital. Police from the Kakati Police Station intervened, quelled the violence, and have stationed a police van in the village to maintain order. The land dispute remains unresolved.
