Wed Mar 12 13:28:36 UTC 2025: ## Kremlin Hesitant as US Military Aid to Ukraine Resumes Following Ceasefire Proposal

**WARSAW/KYIV** – The Kremlin is reportedly wary of a proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, despite Kyiv’s acceptance of the plan put forth at a Saudi Arabia meeting. While Moscow awaits a briefing from the US on the negotiations, signals suggest a reluctance to accept the terms. Adding to the complexity, the flow of US military aid to Ukraine, briefly halted after a diplomatic spat, has already resumed, according to Poland.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski confirmed Wednesday that weapons deliveries through the Jasionka logistics hub are back to pre-dispute levels. This news has been welcomed by Ukraine’s European allies who are now pressing Russia for a response. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that the ceasefire proposal is a crucial step towards peace, urging President Vladimir Putin to act.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is waiting for a briefing from the US before commenting, suggesting a phone call between Presidents Putin and Trump is possible. However, a senior Russian source told Reuters that the current proposal is difficult for Putin to accept without further negotiations and guarantees, emphasizing Russia’s battlefield gains. Senator Konstantin Kosachev echoed this sentiment, stating any agreement must be on Russia’s terms.

The resumption of US aid follows a meeting where Ukraine expressed its readiness for a ceasefire. The US has declared that the decision now rests with Russia. Despite diplomatic efforts, fighting continues. Ukraine launched a major drone attack on Moscow just before the Saudi Arabia meeting, while Russia carried out missile strikes in Odesa and Kryvyi Rih. Reports also indicate that Ukrainian forces may be losing ground in the Kursk region. The ongoing conflict and mixed signals from Moscow raise questions about the viability of a near-term ceasefire.
