**Pathanamthitta, Kerala, March 12, 2025** – The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] in Pathanamthitta district chose not to address the public dissent of district secretariat member A. Padmakumar during their Wednesday meeting. Padmakumar, a veteran leader, had publicly criticized his exclusion from the party’s State committee via social media and press statements before later retracting his comments.
The district committee, focusing instead on upcoming protests against the Union government, deferred the matter to the CPI(M) State secretariat meeting scheduled for Friday. District secretary Raju Abraham confirmed that the issue had been conveyed to the State secretary but that no directives had yet been received. Padmakumar attended the district meeting. The State secretariat is expected to address Padmakumar’s concerns and decide on further action.
