**RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM, Andhra Pradesh (March 12, 2025):** Borugadda Anil Kumar, a remand prisoner, surrendered to Rajahmundry Central Prison authorities at 6:14 a.m. today, thirteen hours past the deadline set by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The court had granted him interim bail, ordering him to surrender by 5 p.m. on March 11th. His late surrender is now under investigation.
According to Rajahmundry Central Prison Superintendent S. Rahul, Mr. Kumar’s failure to meet the deadline will be communicated to the High Court. Mr. Kumar was arrested in Anantapur district on charges related to social media posts. Police are currently questioning him in connection with an extortion case.
