**Siletz, OR –** Authorities are conducting a large-scale search for two-year-old Dane Paulsen, who went missing Saturday afternoon near Siletz, Oregon. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported Paulsen missing around 4:25 p.m. Saturday after he was last seen playing in a yard.
Search efforts, involving sheriff’s deputies, fire and police personnel, and search and rescue teams, commenced immediately. Saturday’s search utilized drones with thermal imaging, and Sunday’s expanded search north of Siletz includes drones, K-9 units, and watercraft. The Sheriff’s Office has urged volunteers to avoid the main search area to avoid hindering operations.
A gold station wagon from the late 1990s, sighted near the home where Dane was last seen, is considered a “vehicle of interest” in the investigation. However, Sheriff Adam Shanks clarified to KATU-TV that there is no evidence currently linking the vehicle to the disappearance. The investigation is ongoing.
