Wed Mar 12 11:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Fresh Murder Allegations Surface in 2004 Plane Crash Death of Actress Soundarya

**Khammam, Andhra Pradesh:** Over two decades after the tragic death of Kannada actress Soundarya in a private jet crash, a police complaint has alleged her death was not accidental, but a murder orchestrated by veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu. The complaint, filed in Khammam district, claims Soundarya’s death is linked to a property dispute with Mohan Babu.

The complainant, identified only as Chittimallu, alleges Mohan Babu pressured Soundarya and her brother to sell six acres of land in Shamshabad. Following their refusal, a major conflict ensued, culminating in Soundarya and her brother’s deaths in the April 17, 2004, plane crash while en route to a political event in Karimnagar. Soundarya, known for her role in the Bollywood film *Sooryavansham*, was 31 and reportedly pregnant at the time. Her body was never recovered.

Chittimallu claims that after Soundarya’s death, Mohan Babu forcibly seized the land. The complainant is demanding a thorough reinvestigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and Mohan Babu’s alleged involvement in the land grab, urging the government to seize the property. The complaint also mentions an ongoing property dispute between Mohan Babu and his younger son, Manchu Manoj.

No First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet, and the relationship between Chittimallu and the deceased actors remains unclear. The complainant has also requested police protection, citing threats to their life. The allegations come amidst existing tensions within the Manchu family, highlighted by a previous incident last year where Mohan Babu allegedly assaulted a journalist.
