**Lucknow, India** – The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) concluded its Class 10 and 12 board exams on March 12th, 2025, after a three-week period starting February 24th. Over 54 lakh students appeared for the exams across 8,140 centers statewide. A total of 27,32,216 students registered for Class 10, while 27,05,017 registered for Class 12.
Results are anticipated by the end of April or the beginning of May. While the overall pass percentage for Class 10 in 2024 was 89.55%, girls significantly outperformed boys, achieving a 93.40% pass rate compared to the boys’ 86.05%. Prachi Nigam secured the top spot in Class 10 with 98.50% marks. In Class 12, Shubham Verma from Sitapur achieved the highest marks, scoring 97.80%.
The past five years have shown fluctuating pass percentages, with Class 10 ranging from 80.07% (2019) to 99.53% (2021), largely due to pandemic-related adjustments in 2021. Similarly, Class 12 pass percentages varied between 70.16% (2019) and 97.47% (2021). Students need a minimum of 33% to pass, with compartmental exams available for those who fail.
