Wed Mar 12 08:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Yamaha Launches India’s First 150cc Hybrid Motorcycle: The FZ-S Fi Hybrid

**New Delhi, India** – Yamaha Motor India has unveiled the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, marking India’s first 150cc hybrid motorcycle. The new model builds upon the existing FZ-S Fi, incorporating mild-hybrid technology to enhance both acceleration and fuel efficiency.

While visually similar to its predecessor, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid boasts subtle upgrades. New graphics adorn the bodywork, and the front indicators are now integrated into the tank extensions for a cleaner aesthetic. It’s available in Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.

The heart of the bike remains a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, now OBD-2B compliant. Power output stays consistent at 12.4PS and 13.3Nm. The key addition is a starter motor generator and stop-start technology. This system provides additional torque for improved acceleration while simultaneously reducing engine load for better mileage. The hybrid version weighs in at 138kg, a 1kg increase over the non-hybrid model.

A significant upgrade is the inclusion of a 4.2-inch coloured TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app. This offers features like turn-by-turn navigation linked to Google Maps, as well as SMS and call alerts. Other features include switchable traction control, all-LED lighting, and E20 fuel compatibility. Braking is handled by a 282mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc with single-channel ABS.

Priced at ₹1,44,800 (ex-showroom Delhi), the FZ-S Fi Hybrid commands a ₹14,100 premium over the non-hybrid version. While Yamaha highlights the enhanced performance and fuel efficiency, the relatively high price point compared to similarly priced competitors like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V (approximately ₹4,000 more expensive) may be a factor for potential buyers.
