The deal, confirmed by ESPN sources, also includes a swap of draft picks, with the Eagles receiving a 2026 fifth-round pick and the Texans gaining a 2026 sixth-round selection.
Gardner-Johnson, known for his knack for interceptions (six in 2022 and 2024 combined), fills a void left by the departure of starting safety Eric Murray to the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency. His addition strengthens a Texans defense that already ranked sixth in the league in passing yards allowed (201) and 13th in scoring defense (21.9) last season.
