Tue Mar 11 13:00:00 UTC 2025: ## India’s Muslims Observe 11th Day of Ramadan

**NEW DELHI, March 12, 2025** – Muslims across India are observing the eleventh day of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, today. From dawn until dusk, millions are abstaining from food and drink, engaging in prayer, reflection, and charitable acts.

The fast, broken each evening with the Iftar meal, typically begins with dates and water, followed by a shared feast with family and community. Sehri, the pre-dawn meal, marks the start of the daily fast. Exact Sehri and Iftar timings vary across India due to geographical differences; worshippers are advised to consult local mosques for precise times.

Ramadan is a time of increased spiritual devotion and generosity. Many participate in Iftar gatherings, providing meals for the less fortunate. Mosques and charitable organizations play a significant role in ensuring everyone has access to an Iftar meal.

This year’s Ramadan began on March 2nd and is expected to conclude on either March 30th or 31st, depending on moon sightings. The month will culminate in the joyous celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
