**Port Louis, Mauritius –** Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mauritius on Tuesday for a two-day state visit, marking the beginning of what he described as a “new and bright” chapter in India-Mauritius relations. He was received with a ceremonial welcome by Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam.
The visit, at the invitation of Mr. Ramgoolam, will see the signing of several agreements focusing on capacity building, trade, and combating cross-border financial crimes. PM Modi will also serve as the chief guest at Mauritius’ national day celebrations. The visit is expected to further strengthen the already strong ties between the two nations.
