**Arrah, Bihar, March 10, 2025** – A brazen daylight robbery at a Tanishq jewelry showroom in Arrah, Bihar, left authorities scrambling and residents shaken on Monday. Five or six masked men, armed with pistols, stormed the Gopali Chowk branch shortly after it opened at 10:30 am, holding customers and staff hostage. The robbers escaped with approximately ₹25 crore worth of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash.

CCTV footage captured the terrifying scene, showing the robbers methodically filling bags with gold chains, necklaces, bangles, diamond pieces, and cash while forcing victims to raise their hands. Showroom manager Kumar Mrityunjay confirmed the significant losses, stating that the thieves overpowered security personnel. Security guard Manoj Kumar described how the robbers, arriving in a car and initially entering in pairs to avoid suspicion, ultimately held him at gunpoint, disarming him before the heist. Employee Rohit Kumar Mishra recounted the chaotic scene, with staff hiding to protect themselves.

Following the robbery, Bhojpur’s Superintendent of Police ordered thorough vehicle checks. Images and CCTV footage were circulated through the district’s WhatsApp group, leading to a high-speed chase. Police apprehended six suspects on three motorcycles fleeing towards Doriganj. A shootout ensued, resulting in injuries to two suspects, who are receiving medical treatment. Police recovered two pistols, ten cartridges, the stolen jewelry, and a Pulsar motorcycle.

While Tanishq is cooperating with the police investigation, showroom employees allege a significant delay in police response. Mrityunjay claimed that initial calls to the police were ignored, highlighting concerns about security in the area. He also reported injuries to two executives who were struck with a revolver. The incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of local security measures and police response times. The investigation is ongoing.
