**Chennai, March 11, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government has officially named a newly constructed market in Tiruttani Municipality, Tiruvallur district, the ‘Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Market’. The ₹3.02 crore project, funded under the Kalaignar Nagarpura Mempattu Thittam, replaced a 35-year-old dilapidated market with 81 shops. The new facility boasts 97 shops and was built to accommodate the growing population’s needs. The Director of Municipal Administration announced the naming decision following the completion of construction.
