Tue Mar 11 15:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Mumbai Indians Edge Out Gujarat Giants in WPL Thriller

**Mumbai, March 10** – Mumbai Indians (MI) continued their dominance over Gujarat Giants (GG), securing a thrilling nine-run victory at the Brabourne Stadium. This marks MI’s sixth consecutive win against GG in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Harmanpreet Kaur led the MI charge with a stylish 54, sharing a crucial 59-run partnership with Nat Sciver-Brunt (38). Amelia Kerr (3-34) and Hayley Matthews (3-38) then starred with the ball, dismantling the Giants’ chase. Ismail also bowled a tight spell, conceding only 17 runs in four overs.

Despite a blistering 61 off 25 balls from Bharti Fulmali, GG fell short of the 180-run target, ending their innings on 170. This result guarantees GG a spot in the eliminator on March 13.

MI’s innings got off to a flying start with a 12-run over, but their top order struggled. Sciver-Brunt’s explosive cameo and Harmanpreet’s steady innings steered MI to a competitive 179/6.

GG’s chase began poorly, mirroring MI’s early struggles. While Harleen Deol initially threatened with three consecutive boundaries, wickets tumbled regularly. Fulmali’s late blitz kept GG in the hunt, but Kerr and Matthews’ superb bowling proved too much to overcome.

The victory keeps MI’s WPL campaign strong, highlighting their prowess against a challenging GG side.
