**Hassan, Karnataka – March 11, 2025** – Lok Sabha MP Shreyas M. Patel has strongly refuted claims by JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna that Hassan district was ignored in the recently presented Karnataka State Budget. In a press conference held Tuesday, Patel asserted that the budget, in fact, allocates significant funds to several Hassan projects.

These include funding for a super-specialty hospital, half the estimated cost for the Belur-Hassan railway line, and improvements to tourism infrastructure in Belur and Halebidu. The budget also earmarks funds for Hassan’s newly upgraded corporation, a lift irrigation project in Channarayapatna taluk, and road development. Furthermore, Patel highlighted increased ex-gratia payments for wild animal attack victims and the proposed establishment of an elephant camp to mitigate human-elephant conflict.

Patel dismissed Revanna’s assertion that Hassan received budgetary attention only from the Union government, stating that the central budget makes no specific mention of Karnataka. He emphasized that the state budget incorporates a majority of the district’s demands.
