Mon Mar 10 06:40:21 UTC 2025: ## Maharashtra to Unveil 2025-26 State Budget on Monday

**Mumbai, March 10, 2025** – Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar will present the state budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 on Monday. This marks the first budget for the newly formed Mahayuti government and Pawar’s eleventh budget as Finance Minister.

The budget, according to Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, is focused on the people’s needs. This announcement comes after the state’s pre-budget Economic Survey revealed a projected economic growth of 7.3% for 2024-25, exceeding the national projection of 6.5%. Per capita income is estimated at ₹3,09,340, a significant increase from the previous year. However, this still lags behind several other states including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Despite the positive economic outlook, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized the state’s financial condition, alleging a heavy debt burden and financial anarchy.

The budget session of the Maharashtra Legislature, which began on March 3rd, is scheduled to conclude on March 26th. The budget will be presented in both houses of the legislature.
