**Narketpally, Telangana, March 9, 2025** – A joyride turned tragic early Sunday morning when a speeding SUV carrying five friends from Hyderabad crashed into a stationary lorry on National Highway 65 near Aplingotam village, Nalgonda district. The accident resulted in the death of two young men, Sai Kumar Goud (32) and Chilla Sagaram Sandeep (27), and left three others injured.

The injured, identified as Shivaratri Praveen (28), the driver, Dhandugula Madhukar (27), and Hareesh (25), are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Narketpally. All five were residents of Alwal and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.

According to Narketpally Sub-Inspector Kranti Kumar, the SUV, traveling at an estimated 130 kmph, collided with the lorry illegally parked on the roadside between 4:45 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. The impact was severe, causing the immediate deaths of Goud and Sandeep. Police recovered beer bottles from the vehicle, and are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the accident.

The lorry driver, Kasim Vali (40) from Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, has been taken into custody. The accident caused a temporary traffic disruption, but officials quickly cleared the scene. A case has been registered against Vali, and the investigation continues.
