PHILADELPHIA, PA – The 2025 Philadelphia Flower Show, held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from March 1-9, concluded its run celebrating “Gardens of Tomorrow.” The show, sponsored by the Philadelphia Horticultural Society (PHS), attracted visitors and exhibitors from across the country and showcased the intersection of horticulture and sustainable practices.
Local Philadelphia contestants dominated the medal standings. Temple University’s Ambler and Philadelphia campuses earned the PHS Gold Medal, the Alfred M. Campbell Memorial Trophy, and the Bulkeley Medal for their exhibit, “Reflections on Regeneration,” which highlighted sustainable practices using native plants and recycled materials. Roxborough’s W.B. Saul High School received the PHS Silver Medal for their immersive exhibit, “Modularity,” and West Philly’s Bloom Bold Co. won the Bronze Medal for “A Matter of Time,” a thought-provoking display focusing on generational responsibility.
Beyond professional entries, the show featured hundreds of home gardeners, including first-timer Anisha Chirmule of West Philly, who displayed her begonia plant. A dedicated Makers Market, curated by Tonya Mason, provided a platform for smaller local businesses like Vellum Street and Stitch Prism to showcase their products.
The show incorporated various elements emphasizing sustainability, including a PHS Gardening for the Greater Good Exhibit and a PHS Kids Cocoon. A vibrant Marketplace offered a wide selection of gardening supplies and home goods. Evening events, including the “Flowers After Hours” dance party, extended the celebration for adults. The show’s organizers highlighted the importance of accessibility, emphasizing that local news should be free.
