Sun Mar 09 15:21:26 UTC 2025: ## AIADMK Presents “Realistic” Wish List to Puducherry CM Ahead of Budget Session

**Puducherry, March 9, 2025** – The AIADMK’s state secretary, A. Anbalagan, submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Sunday, outlining a series of proposals for the upcoming Assembly Budget Session. The memorandum focuses on financially feasible schemes prioritizing the completion of existing projects and addressing pressing public concerns.

Key demands include providing inverters to impoverished families affected by unscheduled power cuts, a suggestion even proposing naming the scheme after the Chief Minister’s late mother. The party also advocated for enhanced support for fishermen impacted by natural disasters, ensuring individual assistance for all registered with the Fishermen’s Cooperative Society, and advocating for timely salary payments to local government employees. The AIADMK further urged the government to provide jobs to the heirs of deceased sanitation workers and to address the economic hardship faced by autorickshaw drivers due to unregulated two-wheeler rental businesses, proposing a ban on these rentals.

A significant portion of the memorandum focused on addressing the issue of Scheduled Caste certificate eligibility for individuals born after 1964 but residing in Puducherry for over 50 years, many of whom are currently denied access to education and employment opportunities. The AIADMK urged the government to issue a notification facilitating the issuance of these certificates based on proof of maternal residence before 1964. Finally, the party reiterated a previous request to reinstate PWD staff dismissed during the Congress government’s tenure. The AIADMK described its proposals as a “realistic wish list,” tailored to the current financial climate.
