BENGALURU, INDIA – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya, representing Bengaluru South, married Carnatic vocalist Sivasri Skandaprasad in a traditional ceremony held in Bengaluru on March 6th, 2025. The event was attended by a host of prominent BJP leaders, including Annamalai, Pratap Simha, Amit Malaviya, BY Vijayendra, and Union Minister V Somanna, with images of the ceremony circulating widely on social media.
The bride, Ms. Skandaprasad, who boasts a large following on Instagram and YouTube, is well-known for her contributions to the arts, including her work on the soundtrack for Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan” film franchise. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering from Sastra University and a degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras. In addition to her musical career, she is a Bharatanatyam dancer. Her talent has even earned praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr. Surya, a two-time Lok Sabha MP and president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), was seen in traditional attire alongside his bride, who wore a stunning yellow kanchipuram silk saree and gold jewelry, later changing into a red-maroon saree. The wedding was a grand affair, reflecting the couple’s prominent positions in both politics and the arts.
