**PARIS** – France has announced it will continue providing military intelligence to Ukraine following the United States’ decision to temporarily halt its intelligence sharing. French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirmed this on Thursday, March 6, 2025, stating that France’s intelligence sharing is “sovereign” and will continue to benefit Ukraine.
The US announced its suspension of intelligence sharing on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, a move that cut off crucial information aiding Ukraine’s targeting of Russian forces. While US officials suggest the suspension may be brief, following positive talks between Washington and Kyiv, the interruption has prompted France to increase its support.
Mr. Lecornu revealed that President Emmanuel Macron has instructed him to accelerate the delivery of French aid packages to compensate for the lack of American assistance. He acknowledged that shipments of aid from Poland have been temporarily suspended but expressed confidence in Ukraine’s ability to continue fighting, given its three years of experience in the conflict.
