**Chennai, March 6, 2025** – Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi on Wednesday praised the enduring impact of the Kamba Ramayana, calling it a cornerstone of Indian civilization. Speaking at the release of a new study on the epic poem, “Kamba Ramayana – A Study” by the late V.V.S. Aiyar, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Chennai, the Governor highlighted the accessibility and vibrancy of Kamban’s work, making it relatable to all segments of society.

Governor Ravi emphasized the deep-rooted connection between the Ramayana and Indian culture, tracing its origins back to the Vedas, which he described as the foundation of “Bharat Rashtra.” He asserted that the epic offers timeless wisdom on navigating life’s challenges and remains highly relevant in contemporary India, citing the national outpouring of emotion surrounding both the desecration of Ayodhya centuries ago and the recent inauguration of the Ram temple in January 2024.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, vice-chairman Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra; Justice S.
