**Karimnagar, Telangana, March 6, 2025** – In a closely contested election, BJP-backed candidate Chinnamile Anji Reddy secured victory in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency. Reddy won by a narrow margin of 4,991 votes after a second preference vote count was conducted Wednesday night. The Election Commission is yet to officially announce the results.

Reddy received 78,635 votes, narrowly defeating Narender Reddy (Congress) who garnered 73,644 votes. The win marks a significant victory for the BJP, wresting the seat from the ruling Congress party and demonstrating considerable influence among graduates in the 15 districts of northern Telangana. Celebrations erupted in Karimnagar following the announcement of the results.

The second preference vote count was necessary as no candidate secured over 50% of the votes in the initial count. A total of 252,029 votes were cast, with 28,686 deemed invalid. A temporary stalemate arose after the second count, with Congress agents requesting a third preference count. The matter was reportedly referred to the Election Commission.
