**Chennai, March 5, 2025** – The 54th National Safety Day was observed at Saint Gobain India Private Limited in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, on Tuesday. Labour Welfare and Skill Development Minister C.V. Ganesan, presiding over the event, underscored the crucial role of worker self-protection and proactive safety planning to prevent workplace accidents. He stressed that safety is a shared responsibility between management and workers, aiming for a zero-accident workplace. A new handbook on “Occupational Heat Hazard” was also released during the ceremony. The event was attended by senior Saint Gobain officials including S. Ananth, Director of Industrial Safety and Health, and N.S. Venkat Murugan, national head of Operations and DTI India head.
