**Amritsar, Punjab –** A Pakistani national attempting to illegally cross the International Border (IB) into India was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) troops in Amritsar, Punjab, on March 3, 2025. According to a BSF Public Relations Officer (PRO), the intruder was spotted moving suspiciously near Kotrazda village, taking advantage of the terrain and wheat crops to approach the border fence. Despite being challenged by BSF personnel, the intruder continued advancing, prompting the troops to fire in self-defense. A mobile phone was recovered from the deceased. The BSF stated that this incident thwarted a potential infiltration attempt, and the body has been handed over to Ramdas police station for further legal proceedings.
