**Bengaluru, March 5, 2025** – The Railway Police in Bengaluru have arrested Mousam Pahadi, a 25-year-old construction worker from Nepal, in connection with the rape and murder of a 40-year-old woman at Hassan railway station on February 13th. Pahadi had been on the run for 17 days.
According to police reports, Pahadi, who was allegedly intoxicated, attacked the victim after she resisted his advances. He struck her with a brick, raped her, and then left her body in a tower wagon shed before fleeing the scene.
The police identified Pahadi through CCTV footage and circulated his image widely. He was ultimately apprehended at Bengaluru railway station on Tuesday. The arrest concludes a two-week manhunt involving surveillance of railway stations and bus stops across the region.
